| The Scottish Thistle is the national plant. According to popular accepted history, a group of bare foot Raiders were about to pounce on an unsuspecting camp of Scots in the Dark when one (Viking, I suppose,) stepped into a thistle and let out an involuntary yelp. That alerted the Scots and they defeated the invaders, and upon determining the cause from the last dying breath of the "yelper", they then made the thistle the national symbol as it had saved the Kingdom.... They have been a "PRICKLY" bunch every since. It is Jelutong Mahogany, 2"x 16" wide By 22 Inches tall. |
