Shay Locomotive-The Engines were "Screw" driven, keeping absolute power onto the tracks, therefore much in demand for logging trains hauling logs out of the woods. Basically, NO slippage where the wheels met the tracks.

This particular one was the Engine that the retiring head of Bohemia Lumber drove for so many years and he was honored with this carving upon Retirement.

This wasn't just a Shay, but one particular locomotive, one he would recognize as it had subtle differences than others.
