| had to be a "C" section baby. Maybe that's the reason I always look for the side door wherever I go. (So much for humor!) The love of Horses comes naturally as my father, also named ARTHUR was a Cowboy, Stockman, Wheat Farmer and Mule Skinner in the early days of his life. I have a large stack of drawings I have made on Joe Meek's life as a Trapper, as well as Indians, Calvary , Cowboys and Western Topics in General. Horses and Mules played a big part of those western Pen and Ink drawings and Illustrations . To many, the horse was just a beast of burden or a means of traveling from here to there without one's self having to waste boot leather in having to walk, but to me, a horse is a magnificent animal and a marvel of grace and agility and a great assistance to mankind. Without the horse, mankind most certainly would still be back at throwing rocks at each other instead of assisting in our development into an age of Space travel. My father said it well. "I was born to Horseback and Buggy travel, now in my life time, I've lived to see a man walk on the moon." |
