He "Holds His Spirit in his Hands." --The NA would dig a hole and get down in it. A helpmate would cover the hole with sticks and brush and lay a rabbit as bait on top. A pole was inserted pointing up in the event a bald eagle dropped in; he would be JABBED and fly away.

Golden eagles were sought. When they struck the bait, the warrior's hands would thrust through and grab them by the legs. He did NOT want bald eagle because their strength and their talons were larger and very sharp and might penetrate his wrists causing him to bleed to death. It took Twelve repeated actions to get the required amount.

He was NOT allowed to leave until it was achieved. Then he would spiritually thank the Eagles and do his religious ceremony before making his bonnet of the feathers. Most all NA lives were governed by Spiritual Ceremonies.

About 36" tall by 44 inches wide.  This is a wall relief.

Inyo has also done a " In the round Statue" of the same subject, 18" tall.
